SESSION 1: Personal Stage5 SeptemberThis week’s class will guide therapists to prepare important bases for a successful programme. They will learn to set a therapy contract with clients, describe the MiCBT model to them and teach them a pre-mindfulness relaxation method. |
SESSION 2: Personal Stage12 SeptemberThis week’s class will guide therapists to address their clients’ difficulty adhering to a regular practice schedule for homework assignments and provide them with a rationale for the practice of Mindfulness of Breath. |
SESSION 3: Personal Stage19 SeptemberThis week’s class will guide therapists to deliver the rationale for integrating mindfulness of body sensations in therapy experientially and teach their client(s) unilateral body-scanning (Burmese method) |
SESSION 4: Personal Stage26 SeptemberThis week’s class will guide therapists to emphasise the role and practice of equanimity in mindfulness meditation as an exposure (to sensory stimuli and memories) and response prevention method, teach clients to recognise the deeper and subconscious elements of experiences, and transfer the skills to everyday experiences |
SESSION 5: Exposure Stage10 OctoberThis week’s class will guide therapists to implement mindfulness-based exposure methods using skills acquired in preceding weeks and teach the first advanced scanning method to their client(s) |
SESSION 6: Exposure Stage17 OctoberThis week’s class will guide therapists to address clients’ potential difficulties with exposure methods with most avoided situations and teach them to practise a more advanced body-scanning method |
SESSION 7: Interpersonal Stage24 OctoberThis week’s class will guide therapists to teach clients mindfulness-based interpersonal skills and advanced body scanning that enable deep perception of early onset of emotional processing |
SESSION 8: Empathic Stage31 OctoberThis week’s class will guide therapists to implement empathic training grounded in thoughts, emotions and daily actions, and teach Loving-Kindness meditation to their clients |
SESSION 9: Empathic Stage14 NovemberThis week’s class will reinforce therapists’ skills in teaching empathic skills and help clients to link mindfulness of ethical intentions and actions with the ability to create and maintain a sense of being connected to others, thereby preventing relapse. |
SESSION 10: Empathic Stage21 NovemberThis week’s class will summarise the course and review participants’ outcomes and possible future training and interest groups will be discussed. |
